Hi Guys I've come across an Edirol Audio Capture (USB Audio/ Midi Interface UA-20. Is this the model used for interfacing Charlies patches. It comes with the manual and CD for drivers. If it is of any use for members in NZ or Aussie zones i would be prepared to loan it. cheers norm

As long as it has MIDI it should be ok for the Alesis. For MagicStomp you just need USB to USB Before USB people used to use the PC Gameport / Serial Port as you can buy a MIDI cable to fit it, so that`s another possible option.

As long as it uses drivers that are not the default Windows USB MIDI drivers it should be ok. Read that as, if it comes with a driver disk for something to install you should be ok. The standard Windows USB MIDI class driver has huge problems with large sequential transfers (sysex for example), where it periodically locks up for milliseconds and causes data overflow/loss. On the upside, OSX and Linux users don't have this problem

I have just used my Edirol ua-20 interface to download the eftp patches to my Alesis Quadraverb Plus, my computer runs Windows XP home, and I used the stec midi dump tool software as recommended by Charlie. I am just about to plug in and try the patches out!
