Anyone use these? The 1st pic is my original Snark, and you can see it has a lot more detail in the accuracy with the number of cents shown, the second (I have two others like this) and the central blue "In tune" bar is quite big and doesn't seem to allow as accurate tuning as my original, I cannot see that there are ones like my 1st still available unless someone knows better? Mike.

That is what I thought I was getting. So after buying 2 and both being as my second pic, even the picture on the box and the instruction leaflet showed the original Mike.

With the new blue one, i have to tune by ear afterwards, cause with the tuner alone, my guitar would be out of tune.

Hi Mike, I checked the strings&beyond site above and it looks like they are 2 different models! Does that make a difference?
Regards

If you mean the picture shown is really the "SN1" but it's described "SN 1X then yes. And that company is the USA.
Mike.
PS: they all appear to be wrongly advertised....

Possibly, but I was thinking that the SN1 looked like your blue one, but the SN5 looks completely different and more like your old greyish one.

Ed, yes it does look like it's the one but I have been caught out before thinking thats what I was getting..
Seriously thinking about a Peterson Strobe tune (not a clip on) although a £100+ should be the dogs dangly's for all tuning.
Mike.

I use a Peterson Stroboclip HD and highly recommend it.
It is more expensive, but it is accurate to 0.1 Cent and has a very clear display.

TunerMaybe this one fits the bill?? I've several of these and they work fine...but I have a Behringer and Korg 19 inch racktuners and they are great for stage use. Peterson SP-1 StroboPlus HD Tuner I use for all the setups... Cheers Rob

Hi, They both have the same number of segments so if the scale is the same (it isn't shown on the blue on) they display the same precision but the blue one is easier to see. Bill

Hello Mike
You said the item you received was different from the picture on the box and the instruction sheet. In that case if you are not “out of time” perhaps you might consider sending it / them back for a refund/s. That said I have one of the later Snarks and I get on with it ok, though I only tend to use it at home.
The Boss TU-12 in my rig, that I have had for 30 plus years, is still going well - and I like it - so I haven’t had to look at what is new on the market. The strob tuner you mentioned sounds quite interesting though.
Cheers
Mick

I can also Highly recommend 'Peterson Strobe' My own guitar is a PRS 513 and Yes I know not exactly a Strat ! But the single coils tone gives me the sound that I crave. The clip on tuners cannot attach quite so well to the headstock (Unlike Fenders generous Headstock) PRS only have a very small pointed area to clip onto. I tried the Peterson Strobe HD clip, But had to send it back due to reason stated. But I was hooked by the accuracy of the Peterson, (When I could get it to stay on) So much so I ordered another Peterson. This time the Strobe Plus HD stand alone unit.
