A Sunday anorak question - I know that SOME Shadows tracks can be successfully de-Hanked and used as BTs, I've even done it myself. BUT is there a List anywhere of those that CAN be done? Negative example - Atlantis can't as Hank's intro is panned on one side. Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, This is potentially one of those problematic subjects. I think it is OK for individuals to process the tracks in this way FOR THEIR OWN USE ONLY but to suggest a place of access (whether it exists or not) is going too far the wrong way. It should be OK to discuss the methods and which tracks respond well to those methods. Regards, Charlie

To a certain extent it is possible to de-Hank even when he is panned left or right, it will depend on where the other instruments are but basically, just use the un-Hank track and record the missing instruments that are on his track, for the purists, the right studio effects will also need to be added, as for a list, I have never heard of one.

If I remember correctly, Cliff protested some years ago against the fact that the rights to the tunes expired after 50 years, so there should be no problem for the older tunes.
