Cyberlink products are always good for that Baz but I have never uploaded anything to YouTube that has kept the same HD quality that I uploaded it in.
I wasn't sure if you had to pay a premium or something like that to get full HD or even 4K that is becoming more popular but I came across this article which may explain thereason.
I don't know if this is correct or not, someone else may be able to confirm if it is correct or not.

Hi Baz I have been using OpenShot Video Editor and am pleased with its ease of use and versatility. It is opensource (ie free but maintained) software. I have only used it for combining and editing holiday videos, but it is described as having HD capability and can deal with several video formats. I believe it is available for Windows 7, 8, 10, Linux and Mac, but only 64 bit. www.openshot.org/It could be what you're looking for. Good luck Keith

Hi Baz - I use Song Vegas pro 9 which is quite old as they are up to version 15 now, but I'm comfortable with it and it does everything I need. I Record in 1080 HD and the files are between 500meg and 1 Gig for a 3 - 5 min song. You do need a powerful computer for editing in HD Rendering a multi track video takes about 10 minutes. There is no difference between the final result on your computer and the HD video on youtube. If you want any more info on Sony Vegas I have a few unlisted tutorials and there is a great load of tutorials on YT. Cheers Phil
