I’ve recently noticed various wrist, shoulder and waist pains after I have been playing for a while. I’m pretty sure it’s the chair I’m using. It’s an old dining chair, still with the arms on, so I’m tending to sit quite twisted and awkward. So, it’s time to get something better. My first thought are an adjustable office type chair.
What do others on here use? I don’t think I would get on with a high stool, so really looking for anything else suitable.
Thanks, Tim.

Hi Tim, Yes, I use a plain office chair without arms. Similar to this one office chair. Bill

I also use an armless height adjustable swivel chair - especially when learning new numbers. I practice in a standing position closer to the occasional gig as the feel is so different. Dave

I use a folding stool which has pull out arms that turns it into a guitar stand when not being used to sit on.

Hi Tim, I'm another armless height adjustable swivel chair, because most practice or recording is done at a desk. For gigs I use an armless swivel bar stool with a back.
I think the main thing is the chair should be armless and give support for a good posture. Also while sitting, if some of the weight is taken on the lap it reduces the weight on the strap .. Strats can be heavy ! Regards George
