When playing doublestops thats are both on the same fret, i:e. Playing fret 10 on both the G and B strings, do you use two fingers, or just one.
At the moment I tend to use fingers 1 and 2, even though I have large fingers, as I find it easier to move to the next doublestop up/down the fretboard.

I usually use 2 fingers as my brain finds it easier to control them separately as I move up and down the fingerboard for sequences of double stops, where some are same fret, some 1 fret apart and some 2 frets apart, depending on the tune.

Hello Tim,
I suppose it depends on what comes next which decides what fingers are best to use when playing double stops
As an example, consider the staccato break in Kon Tiki. Theway I play it, this begins with a slide up on the b string using finger 3 to a double stop of the b&e at fret 5 which is then played with my index finger as Roger noted. For the most part the rest of the double stops are played either with 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 3rd fingers depending on what is played next as this avoids playing a two fret gap with adjoining fingers.
Cheers
Mick
