Regarding the USA Standard Stratocaster. Specifically the ones with the Fat Fifties pickups. You remember, the ones that were advertised everywhere shortly before the new Professional Stratocaster came out. You know the ones I'm referring to? Where on earth did they all go? Being a fan of the Fat 50's pickups, I was looking for one this time last year. There were a number of adverts ( even left handed ones ). Then, they're all gone. Did Fender recall them? Did they use the bodies for the new Professional series? Is it only me that noticed the disappearance of these guitars, or have I imagined it all.
Any comments?
And, while we're at it what happened to the Fender leather guitar straps. Yes, I know Fender leather guitar straps are available. I refer to the ones used by the Shadows on the final tour. Cheers, Alan.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for your reply. You are correct that the range has been replaced by the "Player" range.
( These are made in Mexico ). What bothers me is, where did all the USA Standard Stratocasters, ( The ones with Fat 50's pickups ), go? They just seemed to disappear.
Perhaps they were fitted with Fender Straps and sent to a galaxy far, far away.
Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan,
Pity you didn't see my for sale notice a while back, as I sold my 2014/5 American Standard Strat with fat 50s not long ago.
Regards,
Maurice.

There were a few shops that sold stock at £50 off the rrp but it didn't last long.
Perhaps they were all on sale or return and they went back to Fender?

That's him Len. But, double the price of the Fender for, dare I say, the same thing.
Cheers, Alan.

Alan, Fender had these straps for about 20 years in their product range. Till they stopped delivery to the store almost everywhere these straps going price was less than $40,- After a while I saw the "last" new black one, on an auction site asking price $245,- so the Levy's one is an alternative... Although I use 3 of those "Fender" ones, there are alternatives enough StrapThese Gaucho GST-600-BK are less than 30 GBP if I'm not mistaken... Cheers Rob
