Hi, I've just recently purchased a Q20 to replace my Q2. I'm having hum issue with my Q20. I've checked the capacitors on the power supply inside the Q20, also checked that the ground lug was secure, and they are fine. Also tried different IEC cables. Anyone else have hum issue with their Q20? If so how did you fix it?
Here is a video showing the fault.
Regards Kev

It sounds like you have a ground loop problem.
Charlie used to supply an additional short cable which was wired to overcome this problem. Maybe if he sees this post he may chip in.

It is a ground or earth loop problem. The solution is to connect the ground or earth of the cable to the ring terminal of a stereo jack plug. Nothing connected to the earth terminal of the plug. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Thanks for replying. So do you mean lift the earth off my mains plug?

No!!! That would be dangerous. Use a stereo (aka TRS) jack at the Q20 output. Wire the tip to the inner conductor and the ring to the cable screen. Don't connect the cable to the shield on the plug. TRS plug diagrams here: www.circuitbasics.com/how-to-hack-a-headphone-jack/
