Very sad to here of this, was a very good guitarist but I felt he lacked the finesse/ touch that Hank has, he will certainly be missed by many and condolences to his family and friends. Pete

Bo Winberg has left us It is with great grief I have been informed that Bo Winberg died the night of January 3rd. All thoughts go to Lenah and other family members.
Gradually, the tragic message sinks into my consciousness and I browse the extensive catalog of Spotnick songs, an incredible music treasure that Bo and his fellow musicians have entertained me and so many others. Here is music for all kinds of moods and the instrumental songs that I find suitable at this moment are not the big, well-known hits. No, there are a number of other pieces that may not be as familiar to the masses, but are currently the best fit for my ears to listen to. It is delicate, quite, melodic creations with the tender and clear guitar sound that only Bo could get out of his hard-strunged Stratocaster. These songs, to name a few, give me comfort in the missing of Bo. When I listen, I get reminded how privileged I am to have had the opportunity to follow Bo Winberg and The Spotnicks from the early 1960s.
Sleep Walk – Look Up To The Evening Star – Love Said Goodbye – More Than I Can Say – Petite Fleur – Bilitis – Love Is A Symphony – Delightful Morning – La Rosita – The Old Love Letters – From Russia With Love – Today’s Shower – Sayonara O Surutame You – Heartstrings – Nadja’s Theme – Maybe – Regntunga Skyar – Lonesome City Sadness – Wavin’ Dreams – Theme From The Pink Yard – Namenlos – Biwako Shuko No Uta – Speak Softly Love Sören Alverfeldt

And he said some wise words in Goteborg 2007: "I growed out from galoping echomachines like Binson - squeak and sway - Echolette and Dynachord - distorsion and noice - and all trouble with tape breaks etc. Today I have an echo and delay made by Alesis with 99 different programs. I only use three of them but I would not tell the settings... " Take Your secrets with you and rest in peace! David surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/11278/?page=1#p156348

For those who might be interested, some years ago one of my customers told me about the EFTP programmed Quadraverb that he had passed on to Bo Winberg. So the settings are known to me but not which 3 patches he used, which will now most likely remain unknown. Regards, Charlie

Sad loss of a guirar legend. In the early sixties, the Sponicks had a lot of success in France and were asked to come and play at the famous Paris Olympia.
