Hi Les, Well there are a lot of members here who use Alan's Strats with Kinmans, and I have a Masterbuilt with Kinmans, and after all a strat is only a plank of wood, Ash or Alder or swamp Ash,or on the cheaper models Basswood, seems strange to me,I am sure somebody with greater knowledge than me will have the answer, but have you tried a string swap?, I use D'Addario EXL110 10/46 and i have never had that problem at all, ever on any of my guitars, I hope Charlie reads this as he may have your answer,
A string swap may be worth a try? best of luck Les hope you get it fixed.
Best wishes
Kay

Hi Les
It might be that your pickups are too close to the strings, the magnetic effect can cause weird harmonics?
Thank you, doing our best to stay safe!

It could be the way the nut has been cut for any string that does that. Regards, Charlie

I think it is called sympathec resonance (googgle it) I had it on a strat. Whilst I'm sure there may be many reasons for it I cured mine. What I did was new strings and a full setup, adjustments were very, very minimal. Unfortuneatly which part of the process cured it I don't know, sorry. Good Luck.
Regards, Tim.
