Hello!
I don't know if this has been the experience of any of the forum members.
I have Strat >> Boss WM20 wireless >> Magicstomp >> ACTone >>Focusrite 2i4 >> ACER PC >> Cambridge power amp >> passive B&W spkrs
All power adaptors are matched OEM's originals and visually in good order, but, when playing the volume level sometimes fades slowly by approx 30% then returns to full volume. It doesn't happen in a cyclic fashion and sometimes without fading at all so, before I start going down blind ally's I was wondering if anyone had experienced this with any of the above components in the chain ... My suspicion is one of the power supplies is beginning to fail maybe the magicstomp?
Any thoughts/Help would be appreciated
Regards, Barry

Hi Barry,
I wouldn’t have thought it would be the power supplies, a potential candidate might be the MagicStomp as they tend to get pretty warm in use?
The other possibility is that something is interfering with the WM20 wireless signal, but I also use one of those and have had no problems.
Regards
Gary

Check all connecting cables and jack contacts. It is surprising how troublesme these can be. Regards, Charlie

Thanks Gary / Charlie
I'll check as you advise. I do have another MS I keep for spare so I can change it over and The WM20's I can replace with a set of Lekato WS50's that I also have as backup.
Plenty of checking to do,
Regards Barry

If a jack plug is ready to fail and just holding on with a strand or two, this can cause the affect your having. Frank

Well thanks for all your info...
It took a while to find the culprit in the signal chain, but it turned out be the No1 input channel Gain Pot on the Alto ZMX 52 mini mixer that I use for guitar (I use channels 2/3 for backing tracks). I managed to clear the dead spots, cracks and pops by spinning the gain a few times. I have a spare so will change it out asap. The Alto has been a great little work horse, but I always leave the Gain set where it is and just tweak the level pot occasionally. So, don't take you're Gain Pot's for granted, I guess.
Cheers, Barry

The pot might be OK, just oxidised from lack of use. What you have done might be all it needed. See how it holds up before decidng to change it. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie,
It's still working OK so yes it might well be OK ... I'll give it a tweak now and again for now.
Thanks, Barry
