Just wondering if anyone uses pre sonus recording software? I’m constantly being told my guitar is out of tune here and on other sites even though I tune it before I play, am I setting it up wrong? Thanks Matthew

I don’t see how recording software could affect tuning, it’s very likely to be a setting up problem that occurs after you have tuned the guitar?
There are several things things that might be worth looking at, one possibility is that the intonation is out, check to see if the open string tuning matches with the tuning on the twelfth fret (you can get more sophisticated than this, but it’s a start). When setting up a guitar, I use a 2 meter steel rule measuring from the back of the nut to the centre of the twelfth fret, double this to set the centre of the saddle contact point and then fine tune.
I presume you are using a tremolo arm, in which case the floating head needs to be set correctly (including the backplate spacing from the body, the idea is that it pivots freely and returns to a balanced position, which should be in alignment with the strings (around 3mm on a Strat)). The strings also need to move freely between the saddles and the tuning post, are the string contact points properly lubricated or treated with or graphite?
It’s also worth checking to see if the strings are sliding through the nut slots freely, particularly if you have fitted heavier gauge strings, in which case neck relief should also be checked.
Regards
Gary

The strange thing about this is, I listened to "Last Christmas" and it was badly out of tune. You have said other people on different sites have said the same thing, when you listened to your post did you actually think it was in tune and fit for posting?
The DAW is not going to put your recording out of tune unless you have somehow got a pitch shifting plug in or similar, or if slowing the bt down to make it easier to play then not knowing that bringing the bt back to pitch will make the guitar part out of tune and not in sync...there are ways to do this correctly by exporting the mix then change the BPM.
Of course the guitar can be way out but still doesn't explain how you can't hear the tuning prob.
If none of the above then maybe your own perception of pitch is the culprit.

Some tuners have an option to change the tuning by various degrees, have you checked that yours is not set that way by mistake, I remember doing that many years ago!

That is a possibilty, but still doesn't explain how "Scanners" cant hear how out of tune it was?
