Hi folks, I have a quadraverb GT with EFTP on it. I am worried that if the battery goes that I will lose the patches. But would I lose the patches while swapping batteries? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Marty,
I think your "STORED EFTP" patches will be lost unless you hook it up to a temporary battery whilst fitting the new one. Had a Quad GT for 20 years now as I dont use it much the battery is still ok. If memory serves me the battery is soldered to the board.
Steph.

Hi Marty, My Q20 Quad. battery went flat and I lost patches. The battery is a Panasonic 3volt soldered to board. When you refit the battery get a fitting that solders to board and you slide battery into it makes for easy changing. Les.

I have a Korg X5 keyboard that I've changed 3V batteries a few times. Don't know if this is of help here but I took the advice of a local technician who said to just change the battery while the keyboard is on, if it's not switched on it loses the memory. Probably dangerous but so far I'm still here. Maybe different situation with the GT, check with more qualified people than me of course. Good luck.

Thanks Beebs. That's very interesting. I think I will look for someone qualified who could change the battery for me without losing the patches. The EFTP were loaded about 25 years ago and still working, but I worry they will be lost if the battery goes.
