Hi Charlie, I just noticed that too. I am going to ask on the proboards forum.

Hi Charlie, I sent you a PM earlier about this post. It looked gibberish and I thought it could be a virus and did not attempt to click onto the blue links. I thought it was impossible to post a message unless you were a member.
Regards,
Robert

Hi Charlie, I just checked the settings for that board and they were set to allow anyone to post.
Do you know if the settings have been changed since it was created or was it just an oversight on our part?
(I've changed them but you might want to change the setting about attachments as I left it at staff only).

Apologies Ronnie, we'll delete these off topic messages soon.
Charlie, I have checked all the boards. The Edirol board was also open and I have changed it to members only.
The tips and tricks is staff only, is that intended?
The Kevin board is open to members for messages of condolence, should we close it now?

Hi Bill, I have just been through every board setting, while everyone else was posting their recent posts, and noticed a number of things that weren't set as I remember them. I have corrected all that I saw, but not sure if you and I may have conflicted in some way by possibly working on the same settings at the same time. I am thinking that someone had changed the settings without permission or authorised access, either that or there is an access violation with proboards. The Tips And Tricks section was always for staff members only to post advice about using the site. We can change that if you think members could contribute to it. But having just looked I see that members did contribute! I can't figure that out. I am not sure what to do about the condolences board. I did move it into the archive board a while back. Perhaps it can be left for staff changes only, while remaining visible to all. Regards, Charlie

Hi Ronnie,
Apologies about the panic setting in here, caused by a guest posting on your thread. We are trying to fix the problem and it seems that some site settings had been changed.
Try the AC15 and AC30 models if both are included. Set the gain as high as possible but not so high that it causes unwanted distortion. Generally, set the treble below halfway, middle probably not usually higher than around halfway or a bit more, bass for the required depth of low notes, usually you want less bass for older Shadows tunes. Set the volume for desired loudness. Set the output level on the back panel for maximum output unless you want to risk hearing unwanted distortion. The actual settings will also depend on your guitar and what you want to hear, but the above should help as a starting point. Regards, Charlie

I have just deleted a post written by a guest called lxy. Does anyone know how a guest could have posted a message on this site? Regards, Charlie One way it could be done is to join, log in, type your message, then delete your account. Seems an odd thing to do for such a nonsensical posting with its odd links. It seems strange to me that proboards allows a member to delete their own account, it should really be a function only accessible to Moderators and Admin. Kind regards, grip

Hi grip, Good point although I don't think that's what happened here as I don't recognise the user name and presumably neither did Charlie.
Hi Charlie, I don't think us both looking at the board settings caused any conflict. I have noticed that sometimes I am about to approve applicants and you beat me to it and all that happens is that I get a message saying 'you didn't select any names' because the names have gone from that screen as far as Proboards is concerned! So I think Proboards can cope OK with two people trying to do the same thing.
I think the condolences board should remain visible but I think it's normal for the book to be closed after a respectful period of time which given that this is just after the first anniversary of the board being created might be now.
