Hi I have a Vox VT 30 Valvetronix Amp and just Purchased Zoom G2.1u Effects Pedal and Purchased EFTP from Charlie Hall. The Patches from Charlie are Excellent. I still cannot get the Right Guitar Sound of Hank, while I know the Guitar and Amp he uses are Custom made, I think my Amp may be my problem. The Amp has 22 Amp effects in it and I know Charlies Patches have in the DRIVE a Amp Setting. If I turned off EFTP Drive would that affect the patches Charlie made. I have a 1999 American made Fender Strat, and had it serviced earlier this week with Elixir Strings ( 10-46 )put on. Hopefully someone has the same set up I have and can guide me in the right direction. Sorry for so much space taken up on this matter. regards Ronnie ( Shadowhankron )

Hi Ronnie, I think the most used setting on the VT amps is the AC15 setting. Others may also comment about that. You should use a very low treble setting on the amp if using the G2 Drive and EQ settings. You can also try disabling the G2 Drive, EQ, and Extra EQ Cabi & Mic settings. This will then just leave the echo settings in the G2. Perhaps just try it on one patch, then if you prefer that, you can disable the same settings on all of the patches. Disabling them is easy, you just select each one with the rotary selector and press one of the footswitches to disable the selected effect (should show "of" or something similar on the display), then continue with the next in a similar way, until you have disabled the 3 settings. When you have disdabled the 3 settings, press STORE twice, then move on to the next patch and do the same again, until they are all done. Putting them back should also be just as easy, if you should later decide to do that. Regards, Charlie

Hi Ronnie,
I am using the same set up as you, and If you look thro' my uploaded sound files quite a few have the settings that I used to record them, it will give you a good starting point to work from, (and come back and tell me where I went wrong in the future ;D)
Closest sounds are probably the Rumble, 1861, Theme from a filleted plaice and dance on.
My tendency is to only turn off the eq and drive, leave the extra eq on, and use the AC30 on the valvetronix and use the bypass option for the amp model and effects on the amp.
Kind regards,
grip

Hi Ronnie, Basically, to replicate what I have done, turn the first knob to drive and hit one of the foot switches once, then turn it to EQ and hit the foot switch once again, that gives you your temporary recording settings, for playing directly through your Amp, then you need to turn off the Extra EQ and leave the EQ on. The Valvetronix (mine is the 50W Version) the first knob is turned to AC30, and press the bypass button, leave the effect knob on reverb and press the bypass for the effect (mine seems to leak effects if left anywhere else). If you still have probs, keep asking away Kind regards, grip

Thanks Grip
I have spent the past 45 mins on your Sound Files.. You are Fantastic with Sound and Playing Styles. I am nowhere near that at all..it`s been over 6 yrs since I last Played the Guitar.. Early Retirement has given me time to get back into my Greatest Love ( apart from my wife ) my Guitar and Keyboards ( Tyros 2 ). I may be pushy Grip, but could you email me the Settings used on your Shadows tunes on EFTP.. VT Amp .. Pickups.. thats if you had the time.
This is the best forum I ever was a Member.
Kind Regards
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,
I agree with your opinion on this forum, be careful, its hopelessly addictive ;D
The EFTP and Pick up settings are listed within the documents (along with a generic list for types of sound for groups of patches) Charlie would have emailed you when you purchased the EFTP. If you mean all the other settings, if it isn't listed on my sound files post, then I don't have a record of them.
I put my settings on my posts for three reasons, It is somewhere for me to look back if I cant get the settings (my computer is a mess to find anything). Hopefully they will help anyone with a similar set up. And it helps constructive critiscism if the sound isn't in the right ball park.
Kind regards,
grip
