Hi All:
Well.....After some months without any new recordings (while I was introducing some improvements in my recording device....) I'm ready to be back to my recordings.
Thanks to Charlie I could know what was my main problem in my final sound. According him the bandit was the camcorder microphone.
With my old gear (based in Vox Heritage amp and Yamaha MS EFTP), now I'm have a Shure SM57 with a preamp ART Tube MP USB and the Reaper audio recording software. I never used Reaper and also I'll need to learn about it....Well this is another question..
With Reaper come a lot of dozens of plugins. Do you think that some of it will be interesting to use to give some sound improvement?
I remember that some months ago when Charlie had corrected the sound lead sample (Wonderful Land) that was recording with the camcorder mic he needs to boost some frequencies that was lost and clean a lot of noise.... and after this process the sound was great.... Certainly Charlie have more sophisticated plugins and softwares to do this.... But with Reaper and its plugins what could be the best recommendation?
And about EQ....there are some predetermined better settings in the guitar frequency range that could be improvement to give a more Shadows closer sound?
Sorry to ask so much....but I'm from the time when was great to use just only a tape recording device.........(. ;D ;D ;D )....and I'm completely lost with all this......
In Reaper I see that have a DX Sony Graphic EQ plugin... It could be a good EQ plugin or it will be better to use another more powerful and that could to be used with Reaper?
I'm thanking in advance who could help me with some basic details and recommendations to starting to recording with this Reaper software capabilities.......
Cheers from Brazil!
Roberto
