Hi Ronnie,
A link to the site where you found the soundfiles would be appreciated. I did a bit of searching and only came up with an instrumental band (disbanded in 1964) 1 of which became a member of the "Picketywitch" band, but could find no links to any of their sound files.
Kind regards,
grip

Hello Ron and Grip, Yes, the Eagles from Bristol were a great instrumental band. They comprised Terry Clarke (lead), Johnny Payne (rhythm), Michael Brice (bass) and Roc Meacham (drums). I don't think they produced many records but you can still purchase their CD "Smash Hits from The Eagles" (26 tunes), I think I purchased mine from Bim Bam Records. Hope that helps. Geoff G.

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the pointer to Bim Bam Records, the CD looks excellent value, even better than the 26 you quoted there are 30 tunes for £10.00, and it looks like there are a few of their own compositions on there.
Kind regards,
grip

Hi Grip & Geoff
It was only by chance a friend that was in a Group with me back in late 60`s mentioned several Instrumential Bands of the Sixties era and The Eagles was mentioned so I went to You Tube got links to 8 of their hits, I have since found in my Record collection a 45 of The Eagles " Station Six Sahara " .
regards
Ronnie

The Eagles were an extremely talented group in my opinion that deserved more recognition. I have an EP of theirs that I bought in 1962 and paid 11 shillings and 4 pence. Published by PYE, it is TV themes: Steptoe, Maigret, Comedy Playhouse and Oliver Twist. All played faster than expected and absolutley brilliant.

Hi Guys, You may be interested in quite a comprehensive article about the band, including interviews with a couple of the members a few years ago, in the latest issue of Pipeline magazine. www.pipelinemag.co.uk. Baz

Hi Bazzer,
There seems to be a problem with your link, it leads to a hosting site. Thanks for trying anyway, and welcome to Charlie Hall and Friends Board.
Kind regards,

Hi Guys, I saw the Eagles on stage at the pier theatre or whatever it's called in Torquay in 1962. They were supporting Harry Worth! They opened with Exodus. Their sound was amazing for me at the time since i had only just become interested in pop music and of course there were effectively no Beatles at the time. They had an all red Fender line up if memory serves but then i was only a child! I haven't heard of them since.
