Anyone had trouble with the G7.1ut Librarian in Vista (on a new computer), I have turned off the 'Administrater' thing that stops installation so thats ok. The Librarian is coming up fine but the the Midi OUT is showing Microsoft Gs Wavetable synth. The midi IN seems fine. Any ideas gratefully accepted. Tony

Hi Tony, I think it's more likely a driver issue with the MIDI device than the program. What choices does the MIDI in give, and which MIDI device are you using? Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, I use M-Audio 24/96 which has a midi In and OUT, It worked perfectly in Windows XP but in Vista the choices it gives me is 'Delta In' ...'Windows GS Wavesynth'.. but 'Delta out' is nowhere to be seen there is no option for 'out at all. I've also checked on the Zoom site and it mentions just windows XP but cant see an update for a Vista driver. I thought someone may have had the same issue and could direct me to an update. Regards Tony

hi tony. you should find a driver for ma audio 2496 for vista here ....http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver....if you copy and paste the link it should take you direct to the download page for the vista driver. if not just go to the driver update page and follow the links. regards tony

Yes, I think installing correct drivers for the M-Audio device will solve the problem. Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie/Telstars, I have the latest M-audio Vista driver for the card thanks I run Sonar 8.5 and the Midi In/Out is clearly visible etc. I thought it may be the Zoom Driver thing and I was hoping someone else had maybe sorted it but I will re check the drivers. Tony

Hi Tony, The only other thing I can think of is to try setting the editor's exe file to run in XP compatability mode, unless you have already tried that. Regards, Charlie

hi tony If charlie suggestion doesnt work. You you might want to try this. When i was having trouble my m audio card. I was advised to uninstall the driver. Shut down pc. Open the case and remove the card. Boot up install the new driver. Shut down again install the card and boot up. I know this sounds over the top but it worked for me. It might help. regards tony

Hi Charlie and Telstars, I have completed all the above ideas as suggested but nothing changes. BTW I have the Magicstomp librarian installed and it works fine with both In/Outs showing. I can only assume the Zoom librarian and Mirosoft Network 1.1 etc have not been updated by Zoom for vista plus the ingredient o Microsoft network 1.1 Service pack 1 wont install on Vista. Thanks for trying Tony

Hi Tony, I don't have Vista so I don't know what else to suggest. I don't remember any of my other G7 customers telling me of a problem with Vista, on the other hand I don't know if any of those customers are using Vista. Maybe there is an incompatibility problem with the editor program and the adaptor. I just spoke to Roy Paynter and although he uses XP himself he suggested that if the Vista version is 64 bit it might not work with audio but data streams shouldn't be affected. He also suggested that it might not be necessary to actually select the missing MIDI port and that the adaptor should sort it out for itself (I can't quite make sense of that). He seemed to think that the M-Audio device should work fine with the editor program. Regards, Charlie
