Hi Everyone,
Great news!! I'm so pleased to be able to report that last night we had the privilege of seeing Jet back on stage for the first time since July!
As you know, Jet had to cancel his autumn gigs because he is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Recently Jet has been very unwell as a result of the combination of the treatment and an infection. However, last night we went along to the Bembridge Coast Hotel where the Rapiers were performing with Kytson Wolfe and the audience were thrilled when Colin announced that Jet hadn't wanted to let them down so, despite being unwell, he would be playing two numbers.
Jet got up on stage to cheers from the audience and he played 'Theme For Something Really Important' followed by 'Diamonds'. It was a very emotional moment for everyone. I didn't dare look at Janet because we both had tears in our eyes to see Jet back where he belongs. Even though Jet is feeling very weak and still has more chemotherapy to undergo, he played brilliantly and everyone in the audience leapt to their feet to give Jet a much deserved standing ovation.
When Jet came back to sit down at our table he, too, was almost in tears. A very special night! What a trooper!!
Best wishes Audrey

Hi Audrey,
Fantastic news, thanks for letting us know. I must admit I had seen the event advertised along with another in the near future whilst browsing, and I thought "theres no way"....I'm so glad I was wrong. As above I hope he doesn't go and overdo it.
Kind regards,
grip

"Thank you all so much for your good wishes. I found it quite exhausting and I was overcome with emotion. I was very tired and I wish I could have done longer. I'm looking forward to the starting post next year. Wild horses won't keep me from coming back. Jet xx"
