Hi There I know that the first US patent for Kinman was March 1997, as he said on his site. But when did the Noiseless Fender pickups patented or on the market for sale? (It seems that no other patent was issued as of June 1998 in that field aside Kinman) Anybody, knows the answer? Could it be in 1998 also.. Read the article here: www.billlawrence.com/Pages/SCNHistory.htmThanks..Sheendigs

The Lace Sensors came quite a number of years before either. Don't know or remember if they are as noiseless but from that point of view I think they were pretty good, although I wasn't too convinced with the sounds generally. Regards, Charlie

Hi guys regarding the lace sensors. i have a custom built Eric Clapton signature series strat. and to be honest they are not what you may say totaly noiseless, and im not over keen on the sound, after all they are typical Clapton sound. and if you leave the guitar lead plugged in when not in use the 9vlt battery goes dead and its a pain in the rectum to change. however its a nice axe, re the first noisless i cant say.. just my 2 cents worth.... cheers lou

Hi lou, I agree, I prefer guitars that don't have a built in preamp. However, Lace Sensors don't need a preamp, the Clapton Strat needs its preamp for the mid boost. Regards, Charlie

Hi
Ian McCutcheon played at the Reading Children in Need concert last week using a Mexican Strat fitted with Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups.
It sounded very good indeed.
Cheers.
