Hello everyone, just a quick note to ask the question, am I correct in thinking that a housing to accomodate a Q2 to enable it sit on top of the amp is generally a D.I.Y. project, or is anyone aware of a source of supply at a realistic price. Would appreciate any help or advise etc. Best Regards Keith.

Hi Keith, You can buy ready made rack mount cases. The Q2 has the standard rack mount size of 19". I would be wary of placing it on top of an amp though, especially if the amp has air vents. Better to keep it separate from an amp. Regards, Charlie

You state to refrain from seating the Q2 on top of the amp, is this because of a heat issue? or are there another reason?. My amp is a Vox Valvetronix. Best Regards Keith.

Hi Keith, Mainly for heat in case the amps vents are restricted if it has any top vents and also because heat rises it could affect the Q2, but it would also cover your amp's control panel wouldn't it? Regards, Charlie

Sorry, but I find those plasticky things leave me cold. Much better to make one of your own and quite easy really. Here is a picture of one I made in a Vox style and I have made another on a Fender style. Jimbo Attachments:

I`ve been using "those plasticky things" for over ten years with no problems. I like the ABS ones cos they don`t weigh a ton. What do you make yours of?
