Any physiotherapists/surgeons/hypnotists/black witches willing to help?
This will probably be voted "daftest question of the month", but here goes!
I've played guitar on and of for the last 40 years and have always had problems with my little finger. No matter how hard I try, it will not stay down close to the fretboard when not actually pressing on a string, but insists in sticking up at 90 degrees to the neck, rather like the little finger of a dowager duchess sipping her afternoon Earl Grey. This makes the finger somewhat useless as there's a delay playing a note with it whilst I wait for it to drop down to the string. I wondered if anyone else has this problem, and if they have managed to overcome it?
Thanks, Wayne

Hi Wayne, I have always had this problem to a certain extent. It is worse now at my age as my small finger also tingles a bit and has lost some of its feel, which makes it even harder to control. A friend suggested that I have carpal tunnel syndrome and that an injection could cure it, but I don't think this is what you have. Regards, Charlie
