Hi All,
First time i've really posted here, but I'm sure i will get some help.
My current set-up is a Strat and Burns into an A/B switch, then a Boss ME-50, then Zoom RFX2000, then a V-Amp2, then a Behringer 1202FX mixer (which I mix in Backing Tracks from a program i've written on my laptop which allows song selection, then shows relevant amp/echo patches) and finally to a pair of powered speakers.
My question is as most of these units have a 'level' control, so where is it best to adjust it, or doesn't it matter.
At the moment I set my guitars to around 6 so there is some control, then the A/B and ME-50 to max, the RFX so it's just peaking. I set the speakers to max and do the final tweaks in the mixer.
Does this sound reasonable, as I find i'm constantly trying to balance the volume with around 5 or 6 different controls otherwise.
Hope this makes sense.
Tim.

Hi Tim, Each active item in the chain has a noise floor. You need a reasonable input level to be well above this noise floor. I would always have the guitar on 10, then reduce the input level of the next item. Are you saying that your A/B switch has a volume or level control? Regards, Charlie
