Hi Charlie and All
This is my first post for a while after illness so a Happy New Year too all.I was given a Line 6 Pocket Pod as birthday present and have only just got around to using it.It has masses of presets most of which are quite good although there are some that are a bit over the top.I am though quite impressed with it as a gadget for practice it has stopped her indoors calling up and asking me to quieten it down.I have used it in conjunction with my RFX2000 ,Strat and headphones and it sounds OK.I have a question though regarding amp selection. The Pocket Pod models 32 amps and 16 cabinets the 3 I'm most interested in at present are an AC30 with top boost,AC30 without top boost and a 1960's AC15 .What would be the best for early Shads music?
regards to all
Martin

Hi Martin, I've had one in the past and this is the best thing to do imho ; Watch the amount of 'Drive' you use, on clean amps the pod signal soon distorts. The AC30 TB might come out too bright but the AC15 and the AC30 may be ok EQ'd to your taste depending on your pickup outputs and string size and the way you play. The most important thing to do when you use these Vox or other amp simulations is try out every single CABINET and speaker size with each one as it makes a dramatic difference from the default sound, dont just go with what the line6 default cabinet setting is. Also try out the 'Matchless' amp with other cabinets (I think there is one but can't remember exactly). Tony

Hi Tony Thanks for the reply,I have only used it about 3 times so far.I think to try some of the amps with different cabs as you suggest you need to install the editor but no doubt I'll get around to it ,once again thanks for the info.
regards

I have just bought one for the same reason, practice anywhere with mp3 player connected. What would be the ideal settings for the delay and reverb for a general shads sound?. any help would be much appreciated :-). I know I ain't gonna get the sound I get from my G2 with Charlies patches but its still somthing to practice to etc.
Regardz
Neil

Happy new year to eveyone,
I use the POD xt live pedal exclusively for gigs and recording fantastic pedal board very versatile, I have my variax 700 with trem hooked up and my american fender strat(better trem and easier to grasp for Shadows numbers even though the fender model on the variax is spot on).
Anyway I use the Vox ac30 and vox ac15 models (line 6 call them class A models for copyright reasons). Although for later Shadows numbers I use the Fender twin reverb very crisp and clean sound.
I have to agree with Tony, and add If you want to get close to the early Shadows sounds such as Man of Mystery use just very little drive don't over do it, and less bass for older numbers, more bass for more recent ones. (Charlie mentioned this to me In an email I sent to him when I purchased EFTP patches for my Quad Plus).
Regards
Brian (Fasteric)

Hi all
I have my Q2 hooked up through the Pod and I am quite impressed with the sound.Although I must confess I'm still struggling a bit with the basic EQ of the selected amps.Any suggestions for Bass,Mid and Treble settings along with what effects might help would be a help.
cheers
Martin
