Hi. I am interested in getting a unit so I can have the eftp patches. What do you recomend> How do I go about getting them installed? I have heard that the Quadraverb has a battery that when changed you loose the patches, it that right? Any advised appreciated

Hi Nivram, Welcome to the site. You are right that all the Quadraverbs including the Q2 and Q20 rely on a battery to hold the programs in memory. As far as I know the Zoom and Magicstomp units do not require a battery. My personal opinion is that the Q2 and Q20 sounds are worth having the battery to deal with. Second best to those is the Magicstomp. That's my opinion anyway. You can email for more info about installing programs as it varies according to which unit you choose. Regards, Charlie

Hi Nivram. Pleased you could join us.
I'm in pretty much the same boat here as I will be getting either the Quadraverb Plus or the Yamaha MagicStomp in the near future (would have had it by now but some b*gg*r invented something called 'Christmas!').
Because I intend to gig regularly with whatever I choose to buy, I've been leaning towards the MagicStomp, but not if I have to constantly bend down and change patches after every song.
But because I use a mini-disc player and I manually select the songs on that I'm wondering if a Quadraverb migh be better for me because I could place it on top of the mini-disc player and thus I wouldn't have to keep bending down to change settings etc. As I select the next song from the mini-disc so I can change the settings on the Quadraverb.

Hi Spike, I found the Quad Plus can be very noisy when connected between the guitar and amp. Not so bad if in an effects loop. Regards, Charlie
