Hi all I came upon an American site that sells a paintable plastic cover thats sits on top of a strat's body so you can easily and "cheaply" change the colour of your guitar. Well I say cheap, the "body hugger" as they call it was about £20 and the postal cost to send it was as much again plus a bit more!! So not quite such a cheap fix as it at first appeared. Has anyone tried one of these covers? are they any good? and if they are, does anyone know of a UK outlet? The web address is www.guitarbodyhuggerz.com. Cheers Mick

Odd, I can imagine your guitar will move ever so slightly inside the cover if not all over then in certain places so after a year or so you decide to change the colour or just decide you do not like it, take the cover off and find your guitar has been sanded underneath! 1 speck of dirt trapped between the cover and body of your guitar would over time give exactly the same result.
Personally I would not dare risk it.
