Hi All , I have just joined the board and would like to have an opinion on the Yamaha magicstomp. I have the oportunity to buy one and would like to know your opinion, and also what the patches would cost for the Shadow tunes. I currently use a watkins copycat but dont know what the settings for the shadows tunes should be. Im just a bedroom guitarist and play only for my own pleasure. Many Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff, the Magicstomp is an essential piece of kit if you want to create Shadows music. Buy it!Charlie will sell you the patches for £25GBP. He will email you the files and paperwork that has all the information on what setting to select for each Shadows tune. You have to install the Magicstomp Sound Editor on your computer, then connect the Stomp by USB to it in order to load the patches in to the Magicstomp. The instructions for this are included in the paperwork from Charlie.
Regards, Jim

Hi Jeff I would say buy it. They are not made anymore as you no doubt know. I don't own one, I use a Zoom for Shads sounds. I beleive the Magic Stomp is better. I keep my eyes open for other equipment and I would buy it if the price was not too far out. In fact let me know if you really dont want it, give me the sellers details and I will go after it. Buy it mate!! I think it will be a good investment for you. Honest opinion. take care George.

Jeff Forgot to say. Obviuosly check that the Magic Stomp is in good working order. If so and the price is Ok, Defo go for it. As our other friend says, Charlie will supply the patches cheap enough. Great Value !! If they are anything like my Zoom EFTP patches they will be SPOT ON !! Your in for a treat. let us know how you get on. Cheers George

Hi Jeff,
As other have stated, the Magicstomp is a nice piece of kit and sounds great with Charlie's EFTP patches. I have had mine for about one year and I love it! If I were you, I would not pas up the chance to buy one, assuming it is in good working condition.
Cheers,
James

Hi George, Your right i did bid on the the well known auction site magicstomp. I dont think you should have have left it if you wanted it ,because providing its straight then it was a good oportunity,if not somewhat expensive, still thats life and i usually pay through the nose for things i want . You guys all told me that it was the right unit so there is no point in going to the doctors and not taking the medicine. LOL Anyway thanks for the follow up , ill let you know how i get on . Regards
Jeff

Jeff I left it mate because I thought it was you. Fellow Friend on this site, Scouts honour and all that. Glad I was right. I wanted you to have it. I already have EFPT programmed on my Zoom G2 1u. I was playing last night using it. Sounds amazing. I may buy a quadraverb GT as backup. Good luck with the Magic Stomp. Email Charlie and get the patches, a gift at £25.00 in my view. You will then have one serious bit of kit to play with. All the best and GOOD LUCK once again George.
