Hi Kieth
Congratulations! For the Echomatic 2 you want playback from heads 1-2-3-4 and regen from head 4 set the motor about 1 o'clock but this might vary slightly from machine to machine, fx123 this sets heads 1,2 & 3's volume relative to head 4 and i leave this around 2o'clock. Regen to taste but i normally have it so it repeats back about 7-8 times. Sorry its short but I'm at work and writing on my mobile lol. Pm me if you wish.
Scott

Hi Keith
Did you receive your echomatic today?
For apache type echoes you will probably want to use heads 1- 4 - 6 with the fx control fully clockwise with no heads selected for regen for apache, the stranger etc... For things like FC, blue star where there is feedback you will probably want to use head 6 for regen motor speed will probably be best around the 12 O'Clock position. Sorry i can be more accurate for you i have the IVR and have only tried the VIR once before a long while ago. I believe David Martin and Alain both have the IVR model so they should be able to go on a bit more detail if needed.
Hope Ive given you a good starting point so you can enjoy using it out the box.

Keith,
A customer in Italy bought a VI R some years ago from Eric at 'Shadowmania' but only if he had some sheets of settings for popular tunes. Eric asked me to write some for him. If you give permission to Charlie Hall to let me have your e-mail address I should happily send these to you as an attachment. You will then have a starting point.
Best,
Alan Jackson.
