I have been using a Zoom RFX 2200 for some time now and plug in to the front ( mic) socket. Will this harm the Zoom? My reason for asking is that I have 2 machines, one for home use and one for band work. The home one (which was used daily) has recently gone wrong and I wonder if using the mic input has caused this
Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Peter

I can think of no reason for using it this way to be the source of the problem.
That said, you would probably find it much better to us the Zoom in the FX loop of the amplifier (on the assumption the amp has one, of course).

Hi Peter, A weak point of the RFX is the method of contruction by anchoring one edge of the main board by all the controls. This can cause solder joints to break. It might be worth opening up to have a look at all the board edge's solder joints. Broken joints can almost always simply be repaired by resoldering. Regards, Charlie
