Hi All: This is just only as information..... I'm know that all us are very happy with our echo devices with Charlie patches..... These are 3 links for demo videos on YouTube of this new audio processor. The guy plays all the sound guitar styles, inclusive Shadows (with Apache in video Part 1), Dick Dale (with Misserlou), Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc, etc... Take a look..... Great processor.... great emulation!! PS- I already have listen this echo in a demo video in YouTube 2 years ago made by Pancho and I feel that this processor could be a great solution for Shadows sound... but it seems that the price isn't a good solution.... I stopped listening to the pre-amp and got lost in the guy's playing ability I think I'll give up Mike.

Most of them sounded very good but some weren't so good. One of the best was Brian May's sound. Hendrix and Satriani didn't sound so good to me. The guitar tone in Apache was OK but the echo was nowhere near right. Regards, Charlie

The guitar tone in Apache was OK but the echo was nowhere near right. I looked at the product manual, but although there are possiblity of multitap echoes, it doesn't seem that it's possible to set individually each tap. And around € 2,000, it's not a cheap product. I guess that you could do the same, or better, with a TC-Electronic Fireworx. Didier

there are a few of us shadows fans and axe fx 2 owners trying to recreate shadows echo presets at the moment. the axe fx is an unbelievable piece of kit, yes it's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and it's worth every penny. I wonder if Charlie would consider adapting the eftp presets for the axe fx 2? as for those youtube links mentioned in this thread, some of the tones are really good, but regarding delay settings to use with shadows tunes, the tap timings are so far out you may as well just use any old delay to create some ambience and probably wouldn't sound any less effective.

Hiya. Haven't tried one myself, but I know a couple of chaps that do use them. These are incredible pieces of kit and despite the price - they're £2.5-3k, I think - it's probably fair to say they are incredible value. That said, to get the best out of them, you do need to know what you're doing - the youtube clips really only reflect the guy setting it up - it's a little like judging an AC30's suitability based on a bedroom player's efforts, some know what they're doing, some don't. I think, though, it's aimed more at the touring guy who wants all his priceless amps in one box - a more expensive, sophisticated version of a Line 6 POD Pro. To some extent, it's kind of overkill for Shadows stuff, especially when you consider you can more or less replicate HBM's equipment for not much more money and know that the only variable left is you. Cheers, Julian

I will not be programming any other units at least until after the Hall & Collins echo is finished, and at over £2000 I don't think I'll ever be considering this unit. Regards, Charlie

I've been watching the youtube videos and it is a fantastic piece of kit but personally its massive overkill for shads stuff. Perfect though if you were a session guitar player and needed and range of setups in one. Better than lugging around lots of different amps and fx

yes, I have an axe fx unit, and if anybody else has got one you will be able to see that it is impossible to program eftp files into it.
