Hi
I got a S/H Magicstomp this week, there were no Manuals or CD Rom Disk. I was on the Magicstomp site got /pdf Manual Files and downloaded some Patches. and Sound Editor.... but did not see CD Rom Disk as this has extra Patch Files.. I have also loaded Charlies EFTP Patches with Rename files of Interest...but have not heard Patches yet as my Guitar is away for new Set Up and checkover.....I already have the Zoom G2.1u with the EFTP which were Very Good but I believe I am in for a Great Thrill with the Magicstomp Sound on the EFTP patches. Can anyone help with a Copy of the Magicstomp MK2 Effects CD Rom Please Thank You all
regards
Ronnie

Not quite sure what you are asking for here? All the patches are in the YMS and are in "Guitar" "Acoustic" & "Bass". The user patches are where the EFTP patches go.
If you have now got the editor up & running you will see all the patches available.
There is nothing more on the CD rom than you can download from Yamaha.
Mike.

Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply. As I did not get the CD Rom I went to Magicstomp site got Patches there, from other reviews on MS I thought the CD had another set of Patches. I do have the EFTP patches already loaded into the MS in the user area.. Just I thought extra patches were on this CD Disk. I still need to know how to take one patch from a site and and load into magicstomp without erasing my EFTP patches....
Thanks again

Ron,
When transferring a patch to the YMS it wil only go into one of the user patches overwriting the existing one. This is not a problem as I do this many times providing you have kept your EFTP patches somewhere safe. Not all the existing user patches are utilised by EFTP I think from patch 31 downwards they are are factory patches so using any of those isn't a problem. If you accidentely overwright a patch just transfer a single patch or dump the whole set into the User bank.
Good luck and keep those EFTP's in safe place..................
Mike.

Hi Mike
Thanks again. If I open Sound File with MS attached by USB and open another folder with patches attached Do I load this Folder into Sound Editor look for a single Patch..then hit save on pedal then look for a Patch Number say.. U 35 hit Save again.. is it like that.
Also with the EFTP loaded on MS Pedal how do I Save complete Patches onto usb stick or folder for safe keeping, Finally do you know other sites with patches. Once again Many Thanks for your time and energy helping....

Ronnie

You have to import your patch library into the editor then click on the chosen patch or bulk transmit the entire library, and it will transfer to the same locations overwriting the existing user patches.
I presume you received your EFTP patch lib from Charlie by e-mail, so just copy the file to anywhere you like, USB stick, hard drive, or even a floppy if you have one.
The editor will Transmit and Receive bulk data so you can back up all the patches from the user bank only.

Hi Mike
I Thank You again.. But I am still at a loss about what you mean. I dont want to " Bulk " load files ( which would be all ) only One at a time into the MS pedal. I would need to see a You Tube Demo Video to totally understand. Anyway Mike Thank You

Ron,
The procedure for loading a patch is as I said before, even a single patch needs to be loaded into the editor and can then be sent to the MS by double clicking and will overwright the chosen location as all the user locations will contain a previous factory patch.
hope this helps.
Mike.

Send me your e-mail and I will send you the patch Libs from the CD. They are AGStomp, Preset,Delayreverb, Distortion, & Misc.
Put them in a folder and then drag the chosen one to the black bar at the top of the editor in the user tab and then click on any of the patches or bulk transmit the lot in one go. Mike.

Hi All. Just taken delivery today of a 2nd-hand Magicstomp Mk II which I saw in use through another member here, but it came minus everything except the Power Supply. Is there a link to where I can download the Sound Editor software that is on the CD. I've managed to download the relevant User Manuals? Any help much appreciated.

HI Ronnie Just for your information, if you want to reset the unit to factory settings. Just make a back-up of your user presets first. (You will lose EFTP - all the user will be reinstalled - user patches will be the same as Presets patches) You will find that at page 21 of the Magicstomp manual. Hold down on/off button and STORE BUTTON, and then plug in the power adapter. the word 'Factory Set' will appear on the display. The plus switch will need a confirmation on your part, the minus switch cancels the Factory set. Sheendigs

Hi Chris
Thanks for that reply. Much appreciated.
But when I try the Free Download at one of the links in that link you've supplied, it takes me to a page that wants me to download via a social media, which I sternly refuse to subscribe to. The download I'm referring to is mr4221E.

Hi Chris
Okay, I've managed to download that Sound Editor after signing-up to a 4shared account. Now I need to get some cables to connect the Magicstomp to a computer, so if you or anyone can suggest what type of cables/jacks, etc I require, I'd again, be grateful.
That link you provided in this thread, is so very helpful to a late-comer like me to this wonderful world of sound processing.

Hi Rick,
I'd just responded (now deleted)to your previous post, we must have been ytping at the same time. You will need to have a USB "printer" type cable to connect to your PC, If you haven't tried it's performance yet, it's worth checking that you have an A/C to A/C Power Supply. I got mine very cheaply because the seller in the states sent a A/C to D/C PSU with it. It all lit up and looked good with that PSU...but didn't work until I replaced it.
Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I looked at the Magicstomp closely and after downloading some PDFs, discovered that I connect to a PC via a standard printer cable USB lead. I've also downloaded the relevant Midi-USB drivers for Windows 7. Yes, I have an AC Power Supply and have fired it up to ensure it's all displaying as it should. I just need to know what size, i.e. 3.5mm or 6.3mm jacks do I need to connect the Magic stomp to my Roland 40XL amp.
Regards Rick

Hi Rick, Hi Chris I just need to know what size, i.e. 3.5mm or 6.3mm jacks do I need to connect the Magic stomp to my Roland 40XL amp. There are 2 standard mono 1/4" (6.35mm) jack outputs Left and right, it doesn't matter whether you use the left or the right output for mono. The 3.5mm jack socket is for headphones. Kind regards, Chris

Hi Ronnie, Sorry I've come to this thread a bit late. The 3 MagicStomps (Electric, Acoustic and Bass) each had 99 presets in the firmware. These 297 patches were the only ones released by Yamaha and they are all available under the three user tabs in the Sound Editor V2.1 so there is no need for a back-up. You will find some other libraries (such as Acoustic) but the patches are the same as in the 297 -- it's just that some of them have been renamed. However, there are plenty of custom-made patches available on the internet. Please remember that the 297 patches are only intended as a demo and starting point. Don't be afraid to tinker and reprogram until you get the sound you want. The MagicStomp is a sound processor, not just a stompbox full of presets. Please look at Post No.7 in this thread: www.charliehall.proboards.com/thread/11709Everything you need is contained or linked in this thread. Regards DaveC

Hi DaveC
Reading your informative post here in Las Vegas while watching Australia stun Holland in the Fifa World Cup.
After reading your post I feel a heap better having purchased the Magicstomp albeit late to this thread, even after acquiring a Zoom G9.
Looking forward to making use of this piece of kit when I get back.
Regards Rick
