Hi all. Can anyone help. I bought a Behringer V Amp2. Im going round in circles with it even after reading the manual. Im trying to record into pc. In the manual its says to use the studio mode for recording which should automatically happen when you plug in the headphones. I can get into the live modes ok and it shows up on the digital display, but the studio mode doesnt show on display. Can someone tell me if studio mode is supposed to show on the display.Im Wondering if it could be faulty or am i doing something wrong. As its a new unit its probley me. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards Tony

Hi Tony. When you turn on the v amp for a few seconds it will show up the mode - L1, with or without the phones plugged in. I think it defaults to Studio mode with phones in, but to make sure do the following. Press D & E buttons together. The screen will show up L1, L2, S1 or S2. Use the left and right arrows to move to the programme you want, for example S1. Now just press the tuner button and it will be set on S1. Hope that sorts it. Tony Hi all. Can anyone help. Hi Tony, thanks for the reply. I thought thats the way it should work, but with mine when I press D/E all I get is the L modes. None of the S modes appear on the display. Im beginning to think ive got a faulty unit. Would the fact that im running the magic stomp into it with an unbalanced cable have anything to do with it. Regards Tony

Hi Tony. What I would try is not having anything plugged into it. No lead and no phones and try the E&D method again using the arrows left and right (pre-amp bypass). Also make sure the button LINE IN next to the input on the fron (says rear in silver) is OUT not pressed in. There should be S1, S2 and S3 modes to switch too. It will be left arrow to go to these. There are also L1 and L2. So you can switch to L1 and L2 ok, back and too? The only other thing I can think of is at the rear of the unit. If you use XLR outputs and not 1/4 jacks then it will turn on the cabinet mode and it will default to live mode. Very odd this. Tony Hi Tony, thanks for the reply. Hi Tony, tried what you suggested. Took everthing out and just left the power supply. The right arrow does take me to L1,L2,L3, but the left arrow just takes me to nos 52/51. It doesnt have a button to press for the line in. its the V Amp shaped like a kidney. looking more and more like it has a fault. Regards tony.

Hi Tony. Diffierent unit, my fault, you did say vamp 2 not pro!. Ok, its the B and D you press on this unit NOT D & E to change modes. Scroll through the same using the arrows and once you have the mode press tuner. The 52 and 51 that you mention is S1 and S2, its an S for studio, so its working fine. Hi Tony Just to make you feel a little better I thought I'd just chip in! I'm sitting out here in the forum looking in on this thread & the laughter is deafening!!! ;D ;D ... there goes someone else just walking past me sniggering to themselves! It happens to us all mate, we all do it! For example yesterday I had no sound on my PC, I checked the drivers, I checked the cables, I checked my Hi Fi amp (even gave it a light thump) I then took the sound card out & popped it back in again - still no sound. So in the end I downloaded updated drivers & was just about to install them then I notice I had MUTE pressed in! So there you go, it's not just you! ;D Thanks for giving me a good laugh though!

Hi Robert, I can see the funnyside myself now but at the time I was getting a bit stressed with it all. To make matters worse my wife happened to be hoovering round me at the time Tony sent the email. After she stopped laughing she said, thats just proves what ive been telling you for years. Regards Tony

The best one was my dear old Mum.
She was on holiday taking loads of photos with her camera, she was amazed at how many pictures she managed to squeeze onto a single film. On returning home she couldn't get the back off her camera so she took it to the local camera shop. The shopkeeper placed the camera in a bag & fumbled around with it for ages until the back eventually opened, he then looked at my Mum & said - Madam!... there is no film in this camera! ;D

Tony,
Happens to us all at times. I wanted to print some tabs off last week, but couldn't get the printer on. Went through all the checks, finally assuming that the printer had expired and I would have to buy a new one.
Felt totally embarassed when I found I hadn't plugged the mains cable into the wall socket.
Tim.
