Hi
Can anyone who uses a Pod XT or X3 offer a general setup for Shads type amp simulation. I appreciate it will be a AC30 / 15 amp and cab, but I just need some basic amp settings plus any other effects like compression or reverb that you find enhances Charlies echo's, I'm using a Q2.
Thanks
Glen

Hi Glen, I use the Pod XT Live floor unit. The AC15 amp sim is used with the external Pod amp tone controls set to :- bass 1 o'clock. mid 4 o'clock, treble, between 11 & 1 o'clock and presence between 8 and 11 o'clock. as starting points. I don't use the Pod internal effects ( i.e. eq or compression) for a Hank type sound. Personally I don't find the need for any enhancement to Charlie's patches. However, there was one time when I wanted slightly more reverb on one tune I was recording. I use the Zoom RFX2200 with eftp which has external control knobs for tweaking the reverb character, time and eq. I hope this may be of some use to you. Regards Graham

Thanks Graham exactly what I was looking for In my ongoing quest to get a sound I am happy with (not necessarily Hanks sound) I have bought a Pod X3. I was trying to get hold a Pod XT but they are hard to find from my local dealerships and the X3 was only slightly dearer than the XT. I now have both a Tonelab LE and the Pod X3. I think the AC15 amp simulation is slightly more usable on the Pod than the Tonelab, both are good but the Tonelab has a weaker AC15 sound in my opinion. Thanks again Glen
