Hi Barry, I thought the same thing last night. I just looked again and there are 1337 members as I write. I honestly though the applications would slow down after a while but it seems to be the opposite. Regards, Charlie

This is definitely one of the friendliest forums I belong to. Practically everyone is willing to help if you have a problem or just a question. I haven't seen anyone moaning or grumbling about anything for a very long time, its a real credit to the way its run. Thank you Charlie Glen

best shadows forum on the net well done Charlie Richie hi richie when charlie started this forum he didnt want it to be just a shadows forum, but a broader base than that. i know a lot of people think it is just a shadows thing but its far more than that which i am very pleased about myself. maybe charlie will comment on this?? may be lay out what its all about for those who joined at a later time. still a brilliant site whatever peter

Echo [!!!] everything thats been said about this site. Its brilliant. For years I've been playing the same old stuff over and over again, but since I joined in July Its given me a real good kick up the bum to experiment with new stuff and different sounds. You are a great bunch of guys. Thankyou. Kindest regards to all. Neil

Thanks for all your comments. Hi Richie and Peter, This site will be two years old on the 24th of this month. Before that, I had a similar one on msn groups which lasted exactly one year, until msn announced that it was closing its groups down. I always wanted this site (and the msn one) to be for all guitar players and technicians so that my business could expand in other directions, so the idea was to make it a more technical site, rather than a Shadows fan club type site and there are other forums that cater for that anyway. When I started the msn site, I invited nearly all of my contacts to join who are of course mostly Shadows fans, so my sites have always had a strong Hank and Shadows background, so the impression is that it is more a Shadows site, but that isn't the intention. This is why other guitar styles, particularly with sound and video files, are always welcome here. Regards, Charlie

I am very new to the site and what the site does best is give you the energy and knowledge to help players enjoy their music and this is from a Groundhogs fan! but now a melody fan of good guitar sound/tone. Also as a not very good player I can only get better logging on to Charlie's great forum.

Hi Rogers, The groundhogs, last saw them backing the Yardbirds at the Heston TA center just after Noah opened the ark, great band.
As for this site, there is nothing to compare with it, and having had the pleasure of Charlies company on a few occasions it really is testimony to a guy who gives unselfish help to whoever needs it, and for me despite my natural attraction to the Shadows music, this site opens the memory banks to great music in every genre.
Thanks Charlie, and thansk to the members contributions. Steve Toronto

I have to say I have been a member of several forums on various subjects in the past and they come and go. The frequency at which you visit the sites gets less and less until you no longer go there. With this site though there is always something different going on,good technical info, great music and friendly banter. I have to admit I'm addicted! there are not many days when I don't have a look and see whats going on and listen to some of the music. A great site a credit to the administrators and the members. Long may it continue. Les

Some years ago, 10 years maybe?? My cousin hired Tony McPhee and what was Groundhogs for his 40th birthday party as a private gig. They were so loud that a complaint came from the guys in the next room saying there dominoes were moving on the table on there own! Very loud they were! Charlie, your mate must be deaf now! Tony

I believe this is a great site for musicians and all guitar players. the Shadows is an added bonus to it but not exclusive at all. I remember recently that Spike posted a superb Clarinet based number (Strangers on the shore) You get to hear some good blues numbers and other music. Also Jimbo (oldfart) recently did a tremendous version of an Eric Johnson number. All great stuff !! To be honest much as I enjoy The Shads I prefer the site to be a mixture of different music. It would be great to hear some acoustic guitar and banjo bluegrass style. Any Takers? All the best George.
