Hi Anyone tried one of these guitars? I'm thinking mainly of the V6MFR on this page www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.html The UK price is £259 but I can get one here in WARM SUNNY Cyprus for €238 so I was wondering if it's worth it. Strats cost a fortune here. Thanks

Try this one www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.htmlThese are very decent guitars that have a good reputation, I've also used many of Trevor Wilkinson's guitar parts in the past & found them to be of very good quality ( and very good price) Cheers Dick

Thanks Dick, I just wondered if the price was too good to be true.

i have the sg vintage and am very pleased with it. the wilkinson pickups arnt to my liking and i will be changing them, that was always the plan even before buying it. the overall finish is really good. i paid about £120 ex demo model. and at that price they are very good buys. peter

Hi OK I went ahead and bought one of these and it seems pretty good. (Specky - I got the tuners but I didn't get the bride, just as well one wife's enough ) The G string seems to be a bit on the bright side, not that I'm one to complain about G strings ;D. Anyway back to the guitar. The overall sound is better than my previous guitar and the sustain is a lot better. I'll have to make some adjustments to the settings on my amp to cater for this, not that anyone except the wife will hear me as I'm only a bedroom player. I've got to change the way I play a bit as I was a bit lazy and tended to let one note run into the next by not moving my fingers off the previous note quick enough, but with more sustain this no longer sounds right. I've also found that the finger board is slightly wider but this isn't too much of a problem, it means I've got a bit more room to get my fingers on the strings.
