Hi I have a Zoom 508 effects pedal and it has been programmed for several Shads numbers. I know its a bit long in the tooth now so what is a good replacement for it---without spending a fortune?

i had a 508 for some time and it was a great unit, i suppose the nearest too it is the new zoom g2 or g7 units, i recently sold my 508 for £100 so if you did the same you could get a g2 or g7 for very little more?

Ive had a zoom G2 now for about a year loaded with EFTP patches and I dont regret buying it one bit. Charlie supplied me with 29 patches in total and when I first heard them I was blown away. Obviously the quadraverbs are the ones to have but this zoom is plenty good enough for me practising in my living room. Very authentic sounds!

Hi Ken I would agree with with Ian. I've also had a G2 for about a year now and I'm very impressed with it (and Charlie's patches of course). Ian I've managed to persuade Charlie to match up some more tunes with his patches. Here are some he did for me a while ago : Africa b9 Equinoxe V C1 Granada A8 Mountains Of The Moon b6 Rodrigo's guitar concerto C1 Turn Around And Touch Me A7 or A8 and today he's come up trumps again if you look at this thread charliehall.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=stickied&action=display&thread=7013
