Hello all, It's my day off work and I've been thinking!!! I need a new project and was considering maybe putting together a stratocaster with a Bigsby style tremolo and bridge. Why, you may ask? I guess because it's a little different. Has anyone done this successfully? I'd be interested in your comments. Off to mow the lawns now! Cheers, JB

Hi JB, It could work if you use the correct Bigsby bridge and reshape the scratchplate to go round the bridge with enough clearance to move the bridge for intonation, but the neck angle will have to be a lot different to a standard Strat to work with the higher Bigsby bridge. Also I'm not sure that it will be possible to get the pickups high enough with the strings a lot higher. I don't know if the Bigsby bridge string spacing will work for a Strat. Regards, Charlie

Hi. It would be possible. If you use a Tunomatic bridge you have to angle the neck backwards. If you measure along the frets it shall be 12 mm over the top at the position for the bridge. But there are many Teles with Bigsby's and I don't think they are angled at all, maybe there are bridges to use together with Bigsby without angeling the neck. Here is a link to many pictures of Teles with Bigsby. www.xs4all.nl/~msengers/htm/gallery.htmKind Regards, 26rednef

There are Bigsbys the are designed for use on a telecaster and i believe with the tele bridge apart of the term unit.
