Are you getting an error? Or does it not work at all Gary?

Hi Gary.
Check in the prefrences on what driver the stomp software is using.
If it was XP it maybe WAVE or even ASIO. Windows 7 gives other options such was WAVE RT so it could be by changing the driver preference it will work.
If the software installed ok, then it has to be a driver issue. i dont use a magicstomp myself, but would imagine that the stomp needs connectiong before the software opens up correctly?
This should be an easy fix.
Tony

Hi Guys
I have always had problems one way or another with the software that came with the magicstomp usually i can sort it out but on this occasion no ...
Right here goes this is the problem seems like a driver as the editing software seems to be loading in and the magicstomp knows its connected to the usb but when i try and send or receive it times out and also the usb seems to be on the one channel send and return on channel one
Hope that makes sense lol Regards
Gary

Hi Gary If it's a Windows 7 machine and you're getting a VBScript Error 2738 message I had the same with my Zoom G2.1Nu software and found this page with instructions, which fixed it perfectly in a few seconds. www.jakeludington.com/windows_7/20091115_error_2738_could_not_access_vbscript_run_time_for_custom_action.htmlHowever as it involves editing the registry it's a good idea to back that up first or if you're unsure to get someone to help. This solution is only for the specific Error 2738 problem however it might be useful for anyone else who has problems down the track. best wishes Rosemary

Hi Gary Looks like our messages crossed. Obviously the Error 2738 is not the cause as you've progressed well past that stage but I'll leave it here for future reference. Hope someone can help. Best wishes Rosemary

Hi Gary, You might need to set the editor program to run in XP compatibility mode. I think you have to find the .exe file for the Yamaha editor program, then right click on it and select properties, then you should see a tab for setting the compatibility mode, click on that and set it to XP. Also, did you install the correct drivers (32 or 64 bit) for your computer? If not, look for them here: www.magicstomp.comRegards, Charlie

As Charlie mentioned try XP compatability mode or alternatively if all else fails you could consider setting up a Windows XP partion up on your hard drive and have a dual boot windows system so you can use XP for your old software but obviously need to be a bit handy with computers to do that ! Or use an old computer with XP on it !

Hi Gary Going back a while, I solved problems of this nature by making sure the MagicStomp was connected to the PC and turned on before the PC. Doing this and setting XP compatibility mode as said above may well help, also make sure you have the latest drivers (which of course are now fairly old): www.magicstomp.com/eng_html/download/index.htmlGary

Gary,
How?
I use XP but I'm about to upgrade to Win7 so I'm anticipating problems.
Dave.
