Hi Claude, Hank used two JMI AC30 amps on the Cliff and Shadows tour. One for normal sound and the other for tremolo. Regards, Charlie

Many thanks to all of you for those helpful replies. I heard on a video Hank speaking about a 'Matchless' amplifier. Can anyone explain me what kind of amplifier this is? Regards. Claude

I heard on a video Hank speaking about a 'Matchless' amplifier. Can anyone explain me what kind of amplifier this is? Hank Marvin used Matchless amps during the nineties. These are US made amps, largely based on Vox models, with a reputation of being more reliable. Didier

A good few years ago now,Hank did for a short time use a MESA BOOGIE,I think it might of been a MK3 or he might of had 2 on the go,I was in Chandler guitars in kew in London arranging for my Gibson to be Re-Fretted,His Messa was in to be sold. I think the selling price was around £3000 or & £3500,I think it sold very quickly.Personally i think that the MESA BOOGIE MK2B was a warmer sounding amp.The 20- 20 power amp is a nice piece of gear tho very expensive, still made today i think. Best wishes, Les.

I think Hank and Bruce's Mesa Boogies werre MkIIC models. As far as I understand, basically the same as a MkIIB but with a better effects loop. Regards, Charlie
