Hi Gerry,
If you set them both between 12 and 1 o/clock would give you possibly the best sound to noise ratio.

Hi Gerry.
Baz is correct, take the 1 o'clock position as a 'maximum' guide. When you play the strongest note or chord the first green LED indicator should light up, and the 2nd LED only with the odd flicker.

so if i drop them both on to 12 0,clock and turn the amp up slightly it should take some of the harshness out of the sound is that correct?

Hi Gerry, Some very early Q2 units have lower gain at the input stage and require a higher input level setting to compensate. Make sure that the two white dots on the input level controls are aligned and that the two columns of LEDs indicate approximately equal levels when the R (MONO) input is used. The best way is to play the loudest part you are ever likely to play eg. the ending chords to The Savage or Kontiki and judge the input level setting from that. It is OK if all 3 green LEDs light up. The output level settings is usually best between 12 and 1 o' clock. Regards, Charlie
