Yesterday, we spent from 9am until 7pm sorting out a 'Party on the Pitch' for the Royal Wedding celebration. 7 artists turned up including 3 bands. This was a free event including packed picnics for the locals, and i think approx 800 people turned up. At one end of the pitch was the stage; Now to the bit that really tickled me. On this photo, stood in the front of the mixing desk is my son David, to the left of David you will see the guy and his partner who turned up with a brown leather sofa, carpet and a coffee table for the day! Best seat in the house or what! Hope everyone else had a great time. Tony

Sounds like you had a great gig Tony. Talk about home comfort, did they have their slippers on as well..........LOL
Did you play in the gig or was you just supervising? I am guessing you are the guy behind you son in the green shirt??

Hi Tony Sounds like a fun day 800 people, quite a crowd then, a lovely blue sky makes all the difference. Not much was going on in my area, the wife was glued to the tv most of the morning.

Hi Andy.
I was the one who took the photo! So it was not me in the green shirt. Just up for 4 numbers, all recent numbers, no Shadows number done that day. Rest of the time was spent on the PA.
Hi Robert. 800 was a great turn out, a free day for everyone and shows what you can do when you try. The wedding was shown on the TV's inside. The only down side was after so many hours in the sun I was close to full blown sun stroke, just about recovered today. But it was worth it.
Hi Ian. I understand the sofa arrived in a white van. They did stand out from the rest who just brought a blanket!

tony, Nothing better than an outside gig you just feel up for it and the excuse to let rip so to speak, I've done places like Aintree, Dudley castle etc superb especially D castle using the stone wall lit up as a backdrop. cheers Pete Leyland. (shawbridge)
