Hi all
I've just got my computer back after it suffered a serious hard disc problem 3 weeks ago. As part of the repair process my computer chap had to reinstall Windows XP and everything seems to be running OK: in fact the machine is running much more quickly than before.
However, although all my personal files etc are intact I've lost several programs. I've managed to reinstall most of them from the original discs or the Net but I've a problem with a couple as follows:
To change the format of my music files (e.g from wma to mp3 I used a program called Switch and this is one of those that was lost. I paid for that program so I don't really want to have to pay for it again. I remember a discussion on this site on this type of program and I recall a couple of other similar programs being mentioned but I can't remember their names. Can anyone help?
The second program that's disappeared is Nero Burn Lite which was pre-installed when I bought the computer 3 years ago and, although it was the basic version, it suited my needs for ripping, burning and copying CDs and copying DVDs. I've downloaded the current version which is now called Nero Kwik Media but I'm disappointed by it. To me, it's not as user friendly and the free version doesn't include DVD copying which the old one did. So, can anyone suggest a (free, hopefully) similar program which will do what I want?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Tony

Hi Tony, I just found this and the link to download seems to work: download.cnet.com/Nero-BurnLite/3000-2646_4-10964576.htmlUse CDex for converting wav to mp3 file formats, it's good. If you specifically want to convert wma files to mp3 files, I just typed wma to mp3 free into Google, and several results came up. Regards, Charlie

I always used Switch on my PC (now got a Mac) - it's a free download so not sure why you were having to pay but good to hear you're now sorted.
Cheers, Martyn

Hi Tony, if you paid for the program Switch, you shouldn't have to pay for it again. The company will have a record of your purchase and should be able to let you download the software again.
