Just been wondering lately about the number of patches (eftp) that are loaded on my Zoom. I know Charlie has done a great job of putting together all the settings needed to cover the various echo's used by Hank over the years for those of us who strive for authenticity, but I find myself only using a couple of the patches almost all of the time. I just record for fun & am just pleased to get a "sound" that is "Shadow like". On the odd occasions that I play "live" I use the "Wonderful land" patch for everything that is Shads & similar Any suggestions for perhaps 3-4 patches that would cover the Shads that I could copy & put together with my other patches (5) that I use for DE & acoustic stuff to save a lot of pedal button pushing ? I use the Zoom G2N for live stuff. Hope this is in the right place as it is not directly an effects question ( I think) but please move if it's out of place Cheers Dick.

Hi Dick
try some of the echomatic 2 patches. on the G7 there are 8 normal and 4 custom echomatic 2 patches. I use them for any tunes which are not shads but done in shads style and also several shads numbers that should use different patches. i use these live as the general public seem to associate bigger echos with this type of instro. i cant tell you which they are on the G2 but im sure it will be in the list you got with the patches

Hi Dick
I tend to use the Atlantis patch on the Magic Stomp for a lot of stuff which is very similar to the Wonderful land patch. The Riders in the Sky patch I use a lot too on the Q20.
Not sure how those patches sound on the G2 though?

Id say I use 4 at most 2 echomatic 1 patches one with no feedback for Apache, the stranger etc an one with feedback for FBI, man of mystery etc and 2 echomatic 2 patches sleepwalk or the wonderful land patch and the patch for the savage as it has a much louder 4th head. These are the same variations I use with my Ese echomatic.

Hi Robert & Scott Many thanks for the replies, more or less confirms the way I have the G7 set up. Basically ...... Apache type patch on 1 W Land/Savage type patch on 2 2 DE patches on 3 & 4. (although I tend to use patch 2 for just about everything Shads ) (For those not familiar with the G7, it has a row of 4 foot switches that you can assign to patches, giving very fast changing if required) Various other patches are assigned to the banks immediately above & below giving 12 patches available if required literally as fast as you can "stomp" on the buttons ;D Cheers Dick
