Hi Phil,
I've seen Pat Methany using some similar weird looking instrument of a similar style. Love the sounds he gets and his use of the "drone" strings. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards,
Chris

Rubbish.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Mike. PS: Categorised I would think as "New Age" music, of which "Acoustic Alchemy" is, and I have all their albums. Good find.

Hi Phil, I think he manages to use that guitar really well. There is obviously some special tuning involved that suits the piece because he is not doing much fretting with some of the strings. He uses that guitar very melodically I think. Quite an achievement with so many strings. Like Chris, I've seen Pat Metheny play his 42 string Picasso guitar. He uses it to provide much more of a drone type accompaniment - not a lot of harmony going on with his style, rather like John McLaughlin used to do -- different style completely. Thanks for sharing that one Phil. Most enjoyable to listen to. Regards, Len

Too many strings.....not enough fingers...for me anyway ;D Len, you're bringing back some old memories when you mentioned John McLaughlin, the Mahavishnu Orchestra What a band!!! Those guys were not from this planet, their timing was unbelievable, they would go off all bent for leather, improvising to tempo's that you could'nt even tap your foot to and then all come to a dead stop and start a new tempo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtSIEkPqVgkPhil
