Nothing new here.... Doesn't do anything which delay boxes haven't done in the past...Just a bog-standard "one head" delay.
Ok its got "triplets"...but thats just the same echo repeated at the same (shorter) intervals. To copy shadows type echoes it needs some of the irregular spacings which the Meazzi and Binsons gave.
So, still in the zoom 2000 / zoom 508 / Quad GT / Q2 & Q20 arena.

I guess that VOX must have taken the same circuit they put in the Valvetronix series with some extra bells and whistles! Like Roland did for the RE-20.. Perhaps later VOX will catch the same drift and they will reintroduce the echo units they had. ;D

Perhaps later VOX will catch the same drift and they will reintroduce the echo units they had. ;D They could do that as part of the "Heritage" range !... Didier

HI ROBERT ,thanks for the link & I had a look & Its a pity they don't produce a multi-tap effects as you say emulating the vox-named meazzi ,or binson? ?. ,binson I think.. .. BUT on the other hand we by now have by now all acquired as much multi-tap echo we need ,with the Q2-Q20,zoom units ,magic/stomp's ,etc etc .. my spending day's are now mostly over as I am now very happy with the unit's I have, now acquired & it's about time ''too'',I have bought some not so good unit's ,but have learned from my mistakes & my now favorite is my Q2 with charlies ''magic'' ''79'' revised patches, with the magic/stomp next best... CHEERS rob from a very hot australia .....................barry..

My latest Q2 programs sound exactly the same as my latest Q20 programs. The only practical difference in sound is that the Q20 is slightly cleaner and has lower background noise because of the 20 bit conversion v. 18 bit. The main reason the Q20 is much more expensive now is because so few of them were made, about 5000 units. A secondhand Q2 (without my echo programs) should cost around £100 - £200. Regards, Charlie

I seem to recognise the seller's user name. The listing says it comes with Shadows echoes but which ones, EFTP or Echotapper, or his own? If they are mine and there are 175 programs then there should be seals on the unit. If the new 79 program version then there won't be seals, but, I have not yet supplied any of the new 79 Q20 programs to anyone in the UK. I have serial numbers of every Q2 and Q20 unit I have programmed or sold programs for. Anyone seriously enquiring about this item should ask which programs they are and if mine, ask for the serial number so I can check. The seller bought a Q20 listing #260344749463 for £400 very recently, and also bought a Q2 for $120USD approximately one month previous to that, and a Q20 before that. Since the Q2 and Q20 programs are not properly interchangeable, and no one in the UK has bought my new Q20 programs, it is unlikely that the programs will be working properly in a Q20 unless they are pirated EFTP Q20 ones, or free Echotapper ones for a Q20, or his own programs that were written specifically to work on a Q20. If the latter, then he is looking for a huge profit for unknown programs and a backing track CD.
I have lost track of the number of people who have bought units with pirated programs and then contacted me to see if they are genuine. Too late to do it after purchasing! I have been able to trace these back to certain people every time.
I could mention a few names while I am at it, as I am totally fed up with these people. There are others, mostly selling Quad Plus and GT units with pirated programs but I have not been able to investigate properly, mainly because I did not take serial numbers of most of them.
Geoff Strachan (Hertfordshire UK), selling Q2 and Q20 units containing pirated EFTP Q2 programs (as far as I know he doesn't charge extra for programs). When tackled about this some years ago he said "I sold my Q2 to some guy at Shadowmania". I told him I would be watching and to be careful. Shortly after that another one came to light that had only just been sold, and that time was sold by an acquaintance of Geoff's. All programmed units sold in these cases contained my hidden code that was in Geoff's original Q2.
Raymond Sterling (Manchester area UK), selling Q2 and Q20 units containing pirated EFTP Q2 programs (complete with missing program at location 0-00). I knew what was going to happen as soon as he complained about the disabled MIDI ("I can't connect it to a keyboard", FFS!). He even had the cheek to tell me he was going to have the MIDI reinstated by a friend of his (I told him not to). All programmed units sold by him contain the same code as the one I originally programmed for him.
Guy Bodart (USA), recently sold a Magicstomp with the correct serial number and another with pirated EFTP programs. The hidden code of the latter matches a Magicstomp that he still has. He even has the cheek to say I have sold him the wrong programs! He says he has only had two Magicstomps (he bought programs for both), but he has had at least three of them. Get this, Guy also swears by the Dynacord echo units from 1962 and 1965. He said that he uses two together and that they sound much better than the Magicstomp. He said he has several of the 1962 and 1965 Dynacords. He offered a 1962 and a 1965 Dynacord to a member here recently. What's wrong with the Dynacords from the other years, Guy? Looks to me like he has one of each and can't wait for the chance to get rid of them. Guy doesn't know it yet but he has lost all support from me, even for other types of units he has purchased programs for. One is a G2, and the other is an RFX-2200. If anyone purchases any programmed units from him, those units will not be supported by me. Better still, don't have anything to do with him, he is capable of making anyone's life a misery, based on what two different people have told me. This is the same person who posted a version of Atlantis on another site some time ago and everyone who heard it could only hear that it was the original version by The Shadows.
So, always get the serial number or the seller's real name and check with me first before purchasing a unit with EFTP programs. I will not be able to be sympathetic in unfortunate cases where this advice is not heeded.
Regards, Charlie

Hi Sheendigs, I tried a search for his user name and got no results. The demo sounds OK, but I know the Midiverb 4 which is why I never wrote programs for it. At least it looks like he has written his own programs for that unit. I wonder why he isn't selling his own programs for other units, or is he? Regards, Charlie

Hi Charlie, Just a suggestion - it's worth placing your message #9 alongside your message about your programmes in the Sales Board or as a separate pinned message. It contains important information for current and future customers of yours regarding support and how to be assured that goods for sale are legitimate.

Hi Bill, Thanks for the suggestion. I will make a new posting soon based on my post, but greatly edited. I don't think I will need to repeat everything I have said here. Regards, Chatlie

I have now heard more about the the well known auction site Q20. Someone wrote on another site that he had contacted the seller, who replied that the echoes are EFTP but he couldn't list them as EFTP because they are not registered. The sellers user name is 1t9a5y7l so we can add him to the list of pirates. Edited to add: It is not the same listing but it is the same item that has been relisted because it did not sell previously. It has a Best Offer option this time. Regards, Charlie

HI TO ALL ,,the quad's seem to be scarce on ''the well known auction site'' world-wide at the moment as I did a search for the hell of it today & can omly find 2 in the ''UK'' ,as usually there are quite a few listing,s from the ''US''..
I am so ''glad'' that I persisted in my quest to buy aQ2 when our dollar was close to the US dollar & I streched my self & bought 2 of them ,,AND now having the ''magic'' ''09-79'' patch-set my quest has come an end ..I am so pleased with the sound of the Q2 as apposed to my other echo-unit's...
CHEER'S TO ALL ''ECHO-HEADS''......................barry..
