Hi Bigfingers I have just bought a set of EFTP patches from Charlie for my recently acquired Magicstomp Mk2. I was not prepared for just how good they would sound! I fortunately have a few original Shads abums from the '60s so the comparision was direct. The instructions you get are clear and straightforward as well - so can heartily recommend. Cheers Player

If you go onto the dreaded the well known auction site, click on the Completed Listings button you can see them on there.
Ones that have just gone through the well known auction site have been sold for anything between £175 and £250.

I think the original selling price of the Magicstomp was around £175. I didn't realise they were fetching such high amounts lately. Regards, Charlie

In the pre Chalie Hall patches days, no one wanted the MagicStomp after a while so Yamaha stopped making them.
One local shop bought 10 for stock, sold two at the going price and finally let the rest go for a little over £50 each.
Why wasn't I bright enough to see there would be a massive market for them one day.
Cheers Barry

HI CHARLIE & ALL ,, charlie the magic stomp's retail-price in australia when were still available was $499.00 ''OZ'' dollar's.. & that equates to 223.950 Uk pound's at today's rate's....,&2-3 year's ago if I saw something in the Uk for sale I would times the amount in pound's x3 to get the ''oz'' dollar amount? & this is why we in oz find it hard to buy from the ''UK''!!!! And just to ''add'' your price for the m/stomp patches is extremly ''cheap'' & 25.00 UK pound's.. cheers........barry..

Hi Barry, I fixed the price for the Magicstomp programs to be the same price as the programs from another person (available some time before I wrote mine). Regards, Charlie

Hi All, Must say I'm glad I got in before the rush, I don't think I could justify the prices they fetch on THAT auction site now. Well maybe I could, but I doubt the boss would. Regards, Tim.

Hi guys My Magicstomp was programmed I suspect with that "other person's" patches (that Charlie refers to above) when I bought it - and they were quite good. Then I bought EFTP because of what I was hearing from other guitarists, and immediately overwrote the others. I say no more. For the same price it's a no brainer. Player

When the Magicstomp first appeared, it retailed for £199 but was found discounted to circa £175. It was further reduced to £149 and then when it was discontinued, it could be found for between £50 and £70, but as has been mentioned, the the well known auction site prices are staggering.

Hi Charlie. Well I finally got me a Magicstomp. My local dealer sourced it for me. ;D It even came with "Shadows Echoes" installed. I`ve had a play with it and am impressed with it`s capabilities - the echo posssibilities seem almost endless. Pity I`m not as impressed with the preloaded Shads FX. Actually they`re better than anything I`ve been used to so far, but most of them seem to have much more echo than required. I had a little trouble finding out how to get the Editor up and running but got there in the end. I`ve now backed up the User patches and have mucked around editing a few. My only complaint is that you can`t use certain effects together, like amp & speaker sim with delays (unless I`ve missed summat). Anyway, I`ll be getting your patches ASAP, so watch your pms Charlie.

The Magicstomp certainly does have many possible permutations for echo sounds. The problem is sorting out what is needed from what is there. It is correct that other effects are not available when multitaps are used. Still the echo is pretty good, so best to think of it as an echo unit that can do other things instead if needed. Regards, Charlie

Hi all If anyone is interested, Ishibashi Japan has one for sale. www.ishibashi.co.jp/ubox for J Yen 17.143, the reference number for the item is 606630911-10. Indeed these units are becoming very scarce with prices going up weekly it seems. I have just checked the Ishibashi web site and it's still listed I get an update weekly from them but they also upgrade what's for sale every 2 hrs Cheers John
