Can anyone tell me anything about the above. I have a 1976 strat which I bought new at the time but later sold. I have now got it back after 14yrs. Looking under the pickguard I see two original tone pots normal size but also a smaller volume pot which I now know are called "Dime" from just browsing the internet. It looks original i.e. similar in colour era etc to the other two but did Fender fit this smaller type pot in the 70's. It all looks original but its throwing me a bit. I am not a techy at all its just I hav'nt seen this before, Any information would be much appreciated. Regards Tony

Hi Tony, I haven't heard of the smaller pots before. I would guess that CBS did anything to keep production going, or to save money. Regards, Charlie

Hi all. My Crafted in Japan Strat has the smaller "dime" pots in it, cheaper I don't know, they work fine and me being "If it's not broken don't fix it" type. After tearing down my Crafted in Japan 57/62 RI "P" bass it has US made pups and pots in it. I think it all depends on Fender where they source their parts or what their running short of. Cheers John
