hi all pushed the boat out this weekend and brought a burns apache. ;Di have humbed and hared about buying one for a while now, and it is a really nice guitar, the neck plays like a dream fits my hand like a glove. the finish is really top stuff, good as any guitar you like to name. when i got it home i was a bit unsure of it but have let it (and me) settle down a bit over night. then today weather has given me (another) day off. the set up was spot on right out of the box. i will not touch it till its played in and i`m used to it. been playing about an hour and half now and it is beginning to play very very good. the tremolo sytem seems to suit me better than the fender. it looks awkward but is in fact very usable. the sound is starting to hot up now and i think this will end up a terrific guitar. playing through my vox ac15 that Amanda modded for me (thanks Amanda) and the two seem to get on. black finger compressor and q2 with Charlie's patches. if anyone is thinking about one of these dont be put of because of the china connection. i nearly was and how wrong would i have been. burns have done a great job with this and deserve a big pat on the back i can tell you this is not just a pretty pretty guitar but the real deal, well done burns. i got this £100 under price and understand the next batch will cost more at least £1100. 500 being made 50 in red a few in black ltd edition. let it rain let it snow i dont care i`m the one with a big smile on my face all day long. ;D ;D ;D ;D. peter

Hi Peter,
Great things happen now and then.
I have a Burns Marvin (actually the custom signature edition) that i bought a couple of years ago (2005). It plays like a dream, easy to handle. I feel it really well balanced and also the neck fits my leftie as a glove. And the whammy - the design is just about as perfect as can be.
I'm glad that you're happy with your purchase.

Hi Peter, I looked at the first picture and thought "That's clever, he's got the headstock at the front and the rest of the guitar behind That pickguard on the stratocaster is nice! What no guitar leaning against a certain amp picture? Amanda

hi amanda thats one i built from bits a while ago. it was a good thing to do as it helps you understand how it all works, which to me helps with the playing side some how. first time i`ve put pictures up, so they arent that good i couldnt have done it if barry hadnt have explained things. the vox works very well with the burns. peter

I have a mint condition latest model Burns Apache that I bought direct off Barry Gibson brand new in September at Shadowmania. When I came back to Oz I left it in a wardrobe in Cambridge, still in its original packaging from Barry. Only played it at two gigs. I kept it in the UK because I'll be back next year for another tour and thought it could be used, the airfreight is too expensive to tote it to and from Oz. I need the dough as I am a retired pensioner, in rags and eating out of the dog's bowl, so am selling the Burns, otherwise I'll have to sit out on the wing on my next trip. Details and pic (of the Burns, not me) are on this site's For Sale board. Respond if interested to tonykiek@hotmail.com
