Hello to everyone here (just signed up)......
In the thread "EFTP Gear" Charlie listed a dozen units which accept his patches. My question is what is everyone here using? Does it really matter which unit is used if the patches work fine on all of them? Prices seem to go from not much money to several hundred pounds.
I could probably go for any of them but don't intend to waste any money (at least not this time.....)
Thanks for reading
Jay.

Hi Jay, While my programs are as accurate as possible the perceived sounds vary somewhat according to the unit used. My favourite at the low price end is the Magicstomp. Regards, Charlie

Regards, Charlie Low price Charlie? I just saw one go one the well known auction site for £250. The vendor says it`s new but it can`t be, can it? Anyway, my local dealer knows I`m after one and has JUST emailed me saying if I`d like to call in he might have some good news for me.. I`ll let you know later what happens

Well, at least my programs for the Magicstomp are a low price! If the seller after £250 is a music shop, they must be making a massive profit. Regards, Charlie

Hi Jay, welcome to the site.Your question on "which" units folks are using is based on what one can really afford. I have listened to postings of folks playing Shadow tunes on various sites, and all the units sound very nice. I agree with others, that the price of the units (not the patches) can be very expensive. I myself, just a few weeks ago picked up a Alesis Q20 on e-bay for $229.00 a fair price as some go for over $1000.00. Best thing to do is check around on e-bay and local stores etc. then buy Charlies patches. Hope this helps. Have a great day. Scott

I`ll have more details tomorrow I found this earlier which no doubt many here have seen but maybe like me some haven't..http://www.magicstomp.com/eng_flash/introduction/index.html Must say the mp3s are impressive and with Charlie's wizardry on board probably irresistible. So I look forward to your later report. Think I'll start looking around. Seems a pity that it has been discontinued and I suppose they weren't selling?? Has it been superseded? If so, by what? Jay

I'm sure I saw one of these selling for several hundred of our very own GBPs which is your $1000 of course. Take care...... Jay

Hi Jay, I use a Q20 with my own patches. Some of the patches I use are not included in the ones I sell, and were written to use with the rock n' roll band I play in, which actually doesn't feature much instrumental music. Regards, Charlie
