Hi Everyone,
It has been just over a year since the Jet Harris Memorial Fund was started and we’d like to give you an update on how much the Fund has raised in the first twelve months. We are very pleased to announce that £10,000 has been given to Cancer Research UK by the Jet Harris Memorial Fund. All of the money donated in memory of Jet will go to support the research into cancer of unknown primary being led by Dr Harpreet Wasan at Imperial College, London.
This total comprises the donations given via the funeral directors, fundraising at clubs, pubs, gigs, raffles (including Shadowmania) and individual donations.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped to raise this amount!! You have been fantastic! It means a lot to us to have your support in raising money for the research into the cancer that sadly took Jet’s life.
We really hope that you will continue to support Jet’s Fund in the next twelve months. Cancer Research UK need to raise a total of £44,000 by the end of 2013 to fund this important research project – so a further £34,000 is still needed! We would like to raise as much as possible towards this total and in memory of Jet.
Many thanks also to those who have put forward suggestions for fundraising ideas. We’re very grateful and we are looking into the suggestions – in particular the idea of badges … we just need a few more hours in the day to do everything …!!
On behalf of Janet and the team responsible for the Fund – thank you once again.
Best wishes Audrey
